Birth announcement... from fathers Patrick M Houser and Elmer Postle...Fathers-To-Be has been conceived and will soon launch.
We are, "helping men understand birth".
With our extensive background in the field, personally and professionally, Elmer and I are pleased to be offering men in the UK a new option in their understanding, exploration and participation in the conception, gestation, birth and early childhood of their children.
We are offering our unique educational programme in Brighton and London.
From what we have been able to determine this will be the first opportunity for fathers to gather, exclusively with other fathers, learn about and develope as fathers.
Please feel free to add your musings and questions and joys to this forum.

Fantastic stuff guys - this type of support is so much needed.
The more men share their challenges, insights and wisdom, the greater will become the sense in men that they can choose a 'different' approach to fathering.

I have been trying to highlight the importance of these kinds of concepts for quite a while now - especially since the birth of my own child.
Information on the impact of a father's presence and REAL or not is essential understanding for the health and well being for babies, mothers and fathers/family.
i think this will be a good web site im about to become a dad for the first time within four weeks and am excited but nervous

I am now a grandmother. My son has a son who is 19 months old. I am very proud of the way my son is fathering Manfred!
I know from my own life what an impact my own father´s shortcomings have had on my life and my relationships with men. I know that he did the best he could from what he had learned.....
....and I am grateful for the work you are doing. I know that it contributes a lot to making the world a better place.....

It would be great if this were a place where men can explore their feelings and pressures relating to ongoing parenting, not just the beginning of the journey.
We all know that there are always challenges, and the challenges change as the children grow.
There are also challenges connected to a changing relationship with the mum and other children in the family.
Of course it is challenging for women too, but there is loads of support available for women especially in internet forums and groups.

I am pleased to see that there are other men who have written to men about childbirth. Here in the States we are fighting the over medicalization of birth with a c-section rate of 30 plus percent.
Our book is called Men at Birth: A Guide to a Successful Childbirth Experience. You may like to have a look at our web site. The book is in the final stages of production, and we will include your title on our web site as a resource for men here.
